What's TechHer?
Launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, TechHER is Stella’s Girls’ flagship program designed to break barriers for women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). TechHER provides hands-on coding workshops, mentorship from female STEM professionals, and leadership training tailored to the unique challenges faced by women in Africa.

Why do we focus on Women?
Despite incredible talent and ambition, women—especially in Africa—face persistent barriers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). TechHER was founded to break these barriers because:

The Gender Gap is Real: Globally, women make up less than 30% of the STEM workforce. In Ethiopia and across Africa, this gap is even wider, with cultural, educational, and economic obstacles holding women and girls back from pursuing STEM fields.
